I am the reigning queen of giving too much and no ability to stop.
I tried telling a fellow parishioner about my situation and she stepped down and bowed to my taking her place. Then the second woman and she started yelling at me(nicely) and saying “You have got to change your ways and stand up for yourself”! While I know they are right I am such a coward and keeep trying to take baby steps only to revert backwards- you know one step forward and two back.
